                                                   Story of Kalukda and Kallurti   Kalkuda and Kallurti were born in a poor family of a sculptor named Shambu Kalkudaand Ervadi. Kaluda was named “Veere” and Kallurti was named “Kalamma”. At a very young age, they lost their father so "Veere" thought of continuing his father's occupation. As his father was a very famous sculptor, he got a job in Karkala to sculpt the statue of Gomatta. There, he carefully and beautifully sculpted the Gomatta, and people from various places started coming to see the statue. In a short time, Karkala got famous. But there was an apolitical mind running in King Bailasudda's mind, so he made a plan. Daivas are local folk deities who are venerated in the Tulu Nadu region of southern Karnataka and parts of Kerala. Also known as Bhutas or spirits, their worship probably goes back to the pre-Vedic times, although there is no conclusive research on exactly when their worship began. In Hinduism, deities are classified based on their patronage. Kuladevta belongs to a clan, gramdevta belongs to a village community, while ishta-devta is cherished by individuals.  Divine Jewels of Tulunadu- Part 1 I love Tulu Nadu and Udupi, it is called my different names like Kudla, Mangaluru etc. The kind of Divinity and the depth of Indian culture which you can find here is just great. I feel lucky that my roots come from here. Here are a few things which you can do in Hampi in three days. But, before that here are some details about travelling to Hampi The winter months i.e from October to February is the best time to visit Hampi.The weather remains moderately cool except for peak afternoons but mostly perfect for exploring the World Heritage Site. Some of the most important festivals including Vijaya Utsav (Festival of Hampi) is celebrated in the month of November.  MOUNTAINS ARE CALLING- Gangtok and  Darjeeling. DAY 1 BANGALORE ---- BAGDOGRA-----GANGTOK On day one i had  my flight to Bagdogra from Bangalore. All about today was the journey from Bagdogra to Gangtok. You get to see the scenic and picturesque views of the nature. You get to see the nature in it's best form. But the only drawback for this journey is TRAFFIC . You got to have a lot of patience to get through this. These hill stations are getting crowded and the traffic is increasing due to low maintenance and more people. But I don't regret this at all because I got see the nature in it's best form, and I got to click some great pictures. I ended my day by checking into my hotel, 'Dew Pond'. Well for your information about the hotel, if you are a vegetarian the food you get here is really very good. But other than that it was a neat and cozy place to stay.
